There was a lot of concern for the party at Ron Halls farm this year about the weather. Early in the week it looked like cold rain for the weekend but by Saturday it was excellent. The food was great as always. I aded a new Lava lamp ths year. The theme on the shooting range was "War Rifles" and those who went back to the range got to see and shoot several. The Styer and M-1 Garand were the favorites. We had so much fun we ran out of time and the Mauser and Mosin Nagant never got out of the case. All the rifles were from the 1935 to 1945 time frame. Next years theme will be "Guns You are Afraid to Shoot". For the 50 BMG next year I will have to charge a $5 a shot ammo fee. That is actually less than my cost, BMG ammunition has dramatically increased in price over the last year. Also you will have to sign a release form in case of injury when you comeback to the range, ear protection will be required at all times. I recently acquired a Thompson Contender in 45-70, we will be shooting hot loads at 405 grains in that pistol, I can absorb the cost on those rounds if your hand can absorb the recoil.
