The Dayton Hamvention 2007 is history. This year the weather was great. There were a few sprinkles (what would Dayton be without SOME rain) but no significant bad weather. I saw all the usual players from last year, the delinquents from http://www.hamsexy.com, the Mad Hatter, the Icom girls, Jeff from "Hogback" electronics (THE MAN for amplifier support), N8SFC in Gypsy I (since replaced with Gypsy TH - see http://www.n8sfc.com), and a cast of thousands. I camped in the Urban Assault RV at Big Daves again this year. We invited a number of hams to camp at Daves with his permission but have had few takers the last several years. KB9MID made a side trip to the Richmond KOA and discovered they guy that owns and operates the KOA recently retired and moved to his KOA full time and got his ham license back. I recommended he put a station in the office and advertise it for next years Hamvention. The Richmond KOA is a bit less expensive that "Tall Timbers" KOA and very nice. The Richmond KOA is right next to a convenient access to I-70 and a quick 40 minute drive from HARA, has lots of full service hookups and a real HAM in charge. Here are my pictures.
