Big Dave has offered camping for the Dayton Hamvention for several years. In the future this may or may not be available depending on Dave's schedule and on-site facilities. I will leave this link active and contact information if you are interested. Dave is located a short distance from the Richmond Indiana KOA, an excellent place to camp for the hamvention. The Richmond KOA was owned and managed by a active ham operator but I have not contacted him since Hamvention 2007. Should Dave permit camping Hams camping at Big Daves Hamvention temporary RV park will be provided electric service only. A garden hose will be available for water. In the past years some transportation has been available, depending on the number of campers. The camping area has a hard surface pull-in BUT if there are more than 3 or 4 units on site camping in the grass will be necessary. This can cause a problem with high GWV. The yard surface is decent but if there has been very much rain in the first two weeks of May soft ground might be a problem. There are a lot of variables - rain - number of campers - electric needs (A/C ?) - arrival time/date. With all that in mind, and if Dave consents to camping onhis property contact me in e-mail (CALMERRITT@AOL.COM). Watch here for updates as Hamvention 2009 approaches.
