Big Dave (N9IZP) has offered camping for the Dayton Hamvention for the last three years.  The offer stands at this time for the 2007 show.  Hams camping at Big Daves Hamvention temporary RV park will be provided electric service only.  A garden hose should be available for water.  In the past years some transportation has been available, depending on the number of campers, if you don't want to tow a car usually there is a ride available.  The camping area has a hard surface pull-in BUT if there are more than 3 or 4 units on site camping in the grass will be necessary.  This can cause a problem with high GWV.  The yard surface is decent but if there has been very much rain in the first two weeks of May soft ground might be a problem.  There are a lot of variables - rain - number of campers - electric needs (A/C ?) - arrival time/date.  With all that in mind it is important if you want to take advantage of Daves offer some advance arrangements need to be made.  Contact me in e-mail (CALMERRITT@AOL.COM) BEFORE you show up, or on the air some night if you hear me (3865 or 3840).  With Daves permission I will post his contact information here at a later time, also he can very occasionally be found on 3865 or 3840.

Big Daves "RV Park" is located a short distance North East of Richmond Indiana and about 40 miles from the Hara Arena parking lot.  Detailed information will provided with Big Daves approval.  See pictures below for details.  More pictures are available on www.n8sfc.com in the section about "Rocktober"  It has been held at Big Daves the last 3 years.  Rocktober 2006 was moved to WB9ZJS's place in centerville, for pictures return to the main page and look around for Rocktober 2006 for the link, also check www.n8sfc.com, look for Rocktober and other events of interest.

This page will be updated as the time for the Hamvention approaches.  Also check my page on flea market locations of various groups.

For those night arrivals - I should have lights up

I will probably string the lights again this year

The official park electric service - since this photo some duplex and 30/50 amp outlets were added below the box

Never mix beer and electricity

This is a close up shot of the box inside. I can rig any power cable as needed, even 240 volts or two 120 feeds like you see on the right here.

You don't need to know what is inside. Park max is 100 amps cont current - A/C can be a problem if it gets hot due to starting load of the units
